Soul Collector

This little darling was made for the Ut av Vår Hule art festival in 2014. The eight spindly legs  were tractor hydraulic pipes welded onto a brake dish. The abdomen was a bird cage, while the head was made of plaster wrapped tigtly around a skull I formed with iron wire. Note how beautifully the rust of the wires has bled through the papery skin.

Front view. The crushed-faced, vomiting angel riding a broken child’s bike on tow behind the soul collector, was unfortunately destroyed by offended onlookers.

The barbed wire crown and antique protective goggles made all the difference. At the end of the art festival, the Soul Collector was sold to a real ninja! In retrospect, I should never had sold those goggles for less than a million dollars.
